Ingredients

  • ½ cup cacao butter chopped or in small pieces

  • ¼ cup cacao powder (raw, unsweetened)

  • 2-3 tbsp maple syrup, raw honey, or coconut sugar (adjust to taste)

  • ½ tsp vanilla extract (optional, for depth of flavor)

  • Pinch of sea salt (enhances flavor)

Optional Add-ins

  • 1 tbsp nut butter (for creaminess, e.g., almond or cashew)

  • 1 tbsp coconut oil (for a smoother texture)

  • ¼ cup chopped nuts, seeds, or dried fruit

  • 1 tbsp maca powder(for an energy boost)

Preparation

  1. Melt the cacao butter: In a heatproof bowl, gently melt the cacao butter over a double boiler (or in a heat-safe bowl over simmering water). Stir until completely liquid.

  2. Add sweetener & vanilla: Remove from heat and whisk in the maple syrup (or chosen sweetener) and vanilla extract.

  3. Mix in cacao powder & salt: Sift in the cacao powder and stir well until smooth and glossy. If using coconut oil or nut butter, mix it in now.

  4. Customize: Stir in any optional add-ins like chopped nuts, dried fruit, or seeds.

  5. Pour & set: Pour the mixture into silicone molds or a lined baking dish.

  6. Chill: Place in the fridge for 30 minutes (or freezer for 15 minutes) until solid.

  7. Enjoy! Break or cut into pieces and store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
